TAP Air Portugal has inaugurated a new route connecting Porto and Boston. Operating four times per week—on Mondays, Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays—the service will run through Oct. 25. TAP now operates flights from Porto to two U.S. cities—Boston and Newark—and from Lisbon to seven North American gateways: Boston, Chicago, Miami, Newark, New York, San Francisco and Washington, D.C. Beginning 16 May, the airline will launch a new service between Lisbon and Los Angeles. Additionally, starting 3 June, one of TAP’s weekly Lisbon–San Francisco flights, operating on Tuesdays, will include a stopover on the Azorean island of Terceira.
Icelandair will launch a new route between Reykjavik and Edinburgh starting Sept. 12, marking the airline’s return to Scotland’s capital 80 years after its first flights to the country. The seasonal service will operate up to four times per week through April 12, 2026, using Boeing 737-8 aircraft. The new route complements its existing flights to Glasgow. Icelandair has also added Malaga to its European offering over the winter period, with flights twice a week from September to October and once a week from Oct. 25 through Jan. 7, 2026. From April 15, the route will again be served twice a week until May 30.
Qantas will resume international flights from Adelaide with a new seasonal route to Auckland, launching Oct. 31. The service will operate four times per week—on Mondays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays—until May 3, 2026, using Boeing 737-800 aircraft. The seasonal route will add more than 30,000 seats between the two cities. “We're excited to welcome Qantas international services back to Adelaide, offering both a direct service to Auckland and opening up an excellent one-stop connection with New York,” says Adelaide Airport Managing Director Brenton Cox.
Aer Lingus has commenced a new service from Cork Airport, Ireland, to Bordeaux. The route will operate three times per week throughout the summer season. According to Tourism Ireland, France is Ireland's fourth-largest source market for inbound tourism and research showed that in 2023, 16% of French visitors to Ireland originated from southwest France.
WestJet has expanded its codeshare agreements with Air France and KLM, enhancing connectivity for Canadian travelers across Europe. The strengthened partnerships allow WestJet passengers to access 59 European destinations via one-stop connections through Amsterdam Schiphol and Paris Charles de Gaulle. Passengers flying the airline’s new Halifax–Amsterdam route, for example, can now connect to 14 additional KLM destinations, including cities in Italy, Portugal and France.
Spanish airline Volotea will launch a new domestic route between Asturias Airport and Madrid starting Oct. 31, with 4X-weekly flights operating on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays. During December to February, the service will be offered on Mondays and Fridays. This marks Volotea’s first direct connection between Asturias and the Spanish capital. With the addition, the airline will serve a record 20 destinations from Asturias.
Air Arabia has announced the introduction of new nonstop flights from Sharjah to Krabi, Thailand, starting November 28, 2025. The service will operate daily using Airbus A320 aircraft. Krabi becomes Air Arabia's third destination in Thailand, joining Bangkok and Phuket, as the airline continues to expand its presence in Southeast Asia.
SkyUp Airlines will launch a new scheduled route between Chișinău and Athens on May 19, offering year-round connectivity between Moldova and Greece. The service will operate twice a week on Mondays and Fridays during the summer 2025 season, and on Mondays and Saturdays during winter 2025-26.
Air Transat is expanding its winter 2025-26 schedule with the launch of three new routes from regional Canadian airports to sun destinations. Starting Dec. 19, weekly Friday flights will operate from Windsor to Punta Cana. From Feb. 18, 2026, Charlottetown and Fredericton will see new Wednesday services to Cancún, running through April 22.
Maldivian, the national airline of the Maldives, has launched flights between Hanimaadhoo International Airport and Bangalore, India, operating twice a week on Sundays and Thursdays. “This marks a positive step in expanding regional connectivity and supporting the development of northern Maldives,” the airline says in a statement.

Avianca is expanding its U.S.-Central America network with the addition of two nonstop routes to Florida. The airline is launching a San José–Guatemala City–Miami service alongside a San Salvador–Managua–Fort Lauderdale route. “The U.S. and Latin America are closely connected through tourism and business. In 2024 alone, we transported more than 4 million passengers to and from the U.S.,” Avianca CCO Otto Gergye says.
Wizz Air will grow operations at its Timisoara, Romania, base this winter, stationing a third aircraft and launching five new routes. Starting in October, the new routes will connect passengers to Basel, Switzerland; Frankfurt Hahn, Germany; Larnaca, Cyprus; Naples, Italy; and Nuremberg, Germany. The move increases Timisoara’s winter capacity by 62%, adding more than 198,000 seats and bringing the Romanian fleet total to 40 aircraft. The ULCC will also boost frequencies to Bari, Baden-Baden and Dortmund. Separately, Wizz Air will launch a new Brasov-Nuremberg service on Oct. 13, joining recent additions to Naples, London Luton, Budapest and Dortmund.
Volotea will operate its Olbia–Paris Orly route year-round for the first time, extending the service beyond the summer season. Flights will run twice weekly on Mondays and Fridays during the winter. The Spanish airline already offers winter flights from Olbia to Venice, Verona, Turin and Barcelona. “Olbia is one of our key bases, not only for the offer of connections, but also because here we recently reached a symbolic milestone: the 75 millionth passenger transported by our first flight in 2012,” says Volotea international market director, Valeria Rebasti.
Porter Airlines has launched new nonstop service between Toronto Pearson (YYZ) and Kelowna, operating 5X-weekly roundtrips and increasing to daily flights on June 23. The route, flown using 132-seat Embraer 195-E2 aircraft, expands the carrier’s Western Canada presence, complementing service to Vancouver and Victoria. The launch comes as Porter has opted to exit its YYZ-San Diego route during the winter 2025-26 season and cancel planned service from Montréal to Las Vegas, which was due to start in January 2026.

Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) will expand its Copenhagen Airport hub for the winter 2025-26 season with six additional destinations: Fuerteventura, Spain; Kittilä, Finland; Madeira, Portugal; Marrakech, Morocco; Tel Aviv, Israel; and Vienna, Austria. The new routes, operated by Airbus A320neo aircraft, will contribute to a 40% increase in total seat capacity. According to data provided by OAG Schedules Analyser, SAS last served Copenhagen–Vienna in January 2018 and Tel Aviv in March 2016. Both Vienna and Tel Aviv will be served year-round, while the others will operate seasonally. In addition, SAS will continue 22 summer routes into winter, including Toronto and Seoul.
LATAM Airlines Group will open a Santiago, Chile–Buenos Aires–Miami three-leg route from Dec. 1. The service will be operated 3X-weekly with a Boeing 787. LATAM said the flights will be flown with a mix of a 271-seat 787 (including 20 business-class seats) and a 300-seat 787 (including 30 business-class seats). “This new route has the potential to transport over 170,000 passengers annually between the U.S. and Argentina,” LATAM said. The Miami–Buenos Aires leg will have a flight time of around 8. hr. 45 min.
Flights between Paderborn/Lippstadt and Munich will resume on Sept. 1 through a new regional initiative launched after Lufthansa ended service on the route. Skyhub PAD, a company formed by local entrepreneurs and private investors, has partnered with Danish carrier DAT to operate up to three daily flights on the route, using 70-seat ATR 72-600 aircraft. The service will run Monday to Friday and Sundays, with schedules timed to support international connections via Munich.
GOL Linhas Aéreas has resumed flights between Porto Alegre, Brazil, and Buenos Aires Aeroparque. The service operates three times per week using Boeing 737 aircraft. The route strengthens GOL’s presence in both Rio Grande do Sul and Argentina, its largest international market, and reduces travel time between the cities. Porto Alegre becomes the 13th Brazilian city with direct GOL flights to Argentina.
Australia’s Jetstar is adding more than 49,000 additional seats on services from Sunshine Coast Airport (MCY) to Sydney and Melbourne. The increase will help drive a record 600,000 seats on those routes between July and October across all airlines—the highest in MCY’s history. Overall, Jetstar’s total capacity at Sunshine Coast will rise by more than 30% year-on-year. MCY CEO Chris Mills said the move reflects strong demand for travel between the region and major capitals.

Turkish Airlines will launch daily flights between Istanbul and Seville starting Sept. 17, marking the carrier’s sixth destination in Spain as it expands its Southern European network. The new route will connect Istanbul Airport with Seville Airport, adding to existing Spanish destinations Barcelona, Bilbao, Madrid, Malaga and Valencia. “As Turkish Airlines, we are pleased to launch flights to Seville, one of Spain's oldest cities, thus facilitating new opportunities for both tourism and business,” Turkish Airlines CEO Bilal Eksi says. “We believe that growing investments in the region will further enhance both countries' tourism and trade potential.” Flights will operate using Boeing 737-8 aircraft.
IndiGo is expanding its international network with the launch of new routes connecting Abu Dhabi to the Indian cities of Visakhapatnam and Bhubaneswar, starting in June 2025. Flights on the Bhubaneswar-Abu Dhabi route will operate three times per week from June 12, while services between Visakhapatnam and Abu Dhabi will run four times per week beginning June 13. With these additions, IndiGo will operate more than 100 weekly flights to Abu Dhabi from 15 Indian cities, and a total of 275 weekly flights to the UAE from 18 destinations across its network.
Spain’s Air Europa has launched a new route connecting Madrid Barajas Airport (MAD) and Istanbul Airport. Service will initially be four times per week using Boeing 787-8 and 787-9 aircraft, rising to daily from July 7. According to OAG Schedules Analyser data, Turkish Airlines also serves the route 24X-weekly, while Pegasus Airlines operates an 11X-weekly service between MAD and Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen Airport.
Swedish regional carrier Västflyg is set to launch a new domestic route between Visby Airport and Bromma Stockholm Airport, restoring an air link that has been absent since December. The airline plans to offer around 50 departures per week. The route is being made possible through support from local entrepreneurs and businesses on Gotland, including Gotlandsbolaget, Tofta Intressenter, ICA Maxi Visby, SweProd AB, Ulixxes AB and Sakarias Ronquist.
Dominican Republic-based Arajet will increase its flights to Buenos Aires from seven to 13 per week on its Punta Cana–Buenos Aires route starting in October and will resume direct service between Santo Domingo and the Argentine capital with 2X-weekly flights beginning Dec. 12. The move will see Arajet operate 15X-weekly frequencies to Buenos Aires by the end of the year.

Hunnu Air has launched scheduled Embraer 195-E2 operations with an inaugural flight from Mongolian capital Ulaanbaatar to Beijing Daxing, marking both its first E2 service and the first scheduled E2 flight into mainland China. The flight was operated by the first of two E195-E2s delivered to the carrier in April. The aircraft, configured in a dual-class 136-seat layout, will be used to increase capacity to destinations such as Haikou, Sanya, Phu Quoc and Tashkent, while also targeting network growth in China, India, Japan, South Korea and Vietnam. “We expect that E2 will become a backbone of our long-term growth, enabling us to deliver unparalleled connectivity across the region,” Hunnu Air CEO Munkhjargal Purevjal says. Additionally, Hunnu Air plans to increase service between Ulaanbaatar and Beijing Daxing from 4X-weekly to daily starting June 3.
Scoot, the LCC subsidiary of Singapore Airlines, is increasing flight capacity across several routes to meet rising travel demand. Starting June 6, flights to Iloilo City, Philippines, will double to four times per week. Cebu flights will increase to 10X-weekly from June 24, and Davao will rise to 12X-weekly beginning Aug. 30. Perth and Sydney flights will each grow to 14X-weekly in August and October, respectively. Services to Koh Samui, Seoul and Taipei will also see frequency boosts.
Argentina’s Flybondi is expanding its international network with four new routes to Brazil ahead of the northern winter travel season. Starting Dec. 1, the LCC will launch flights from Córdoba to Florianópolis and Rio de Janeiro. On Dec. 15, it will add new services from Buenos Aires to Maceió and Salvador, in northeastern Brazil.
TAR Aerolíneas has announced plans to launch four new Mexican domestic routes starting July 7. The services will connect Aguascalientes to La Paz four times per week, and operate three times per week between Los Mochis and Chihuahua, Chihuahua and Querétaro, and Los Mochis and La Paz. All routes will be operated with Embraer ERJ145 aircraft.
Air Canada will resume its seasonal nonstop service between Montréal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport and Nassau’s Lynden Pindling International Airport, Bahamas, from June 20 through Aug. 29. The weekly Friday flights will be operated with Airbus A220 aircraft. The carrier will also continue offering six to 7X-weekly flights between Toronto Pearson and Nassau.
