Gulfstream has opened a new Technical Training Center (TTC) in Arizona, complementing its recently opened MRO facility at Mesa Gateway Airport in Arizona.

In 2015, Gulfstream opened its first technical training center at its headquarters in Savannah, Georgia. The second center adds over 10,000 ft.² of classroom and lab space dedicated to hands-on training in Mesa.

“Investing in workforce development and training ensures that with every interaction, our customers receive the industry-leading support Gulfstream is known for,” said Lor Izzard, Gulfstream senior vice president of Gulfstream customer support. “The addition of our newest Technical Training Center in Mesa provides even more opportunities for employees to enhance their skills to deliver the highest quality experience and service for our customers.”

According to Gulfstream, the new facility will house a G650 fuselage segment and empennage assembly, a G700 engine, a G600 simulator and a G200 aircraft. The equipment will be used for skills development training in areas such as sheet metal work, avionics, mechanical maintenance and safety training.

Gulfstream is also partnering with Chandler-Gilbert Community College to train and hire airframe and powerplant (A&P) maintenance technology students at the Mesa training center. As part of the program, students will receive Gulfstream-led training to prepare them for full-time employment upon graduation. According to Gulfstream, the company has already hired 40 students from the college.
