Construction of Bombardier’s new 51,000 ft.2 paint facility at its London Biggin Hill Service Center is underway with completion expected in the second half of 2026, the company reports. The project is progressing to plan, the company says.
The hangar steel framework is in progress and cladding work has begun. The two-bay paint facility—expected to employ more than 50 paint technicians—is located at Bombardier’s service facility, which performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, modifications and avionics installations for Bombardier Global, Challenger and Learjet aircraft.
It gives customers additional service options, the company says. Bombardier’s service center at the Biggin Hill airport opened in 2017 and was expanded to nearly 250,000 ft.2 in 2022. In 2024, Bombardier and F/LIST opened a 700 ft.2 material lounge where customers may select materials for the interior of their aircraft. In 2024, Bombardier added more than 3,000 solar panels on the service center’s roof. It also added a line maintenance station at Farnborough Airport nearby.
