The Martin B-10 was a leap upward in aircraft technology.  It could fly as fast as the latest fighter aircraft of the time and it was almost twice as fast as biplane bombers.

The U.S. Army Air Corps placed the largest bomber order since the First World War when it contracted with Martin to produce a total of 121 Martin B-10 aircraft between 1933 and 1936. An additional thirty two Martin B-10 aircraft were upgraded by Martin to be propelled by more powerful Pratt & Whitney engines.

General "Hap" Arnold said the Martin B-10 was "the air power wonder of its day."

In August of 1934 a flight of ten Martin B-10 aircraft flew round trip from Washington DC to Fairbanks, Alaska, a new distance record. The 8,290 mile flight was led by General Arnold.

Martin B-10 aircraft saw action during World War II when flown by China and the Netherlands. They faired poorly against enemy fighters.

Radio Control Airplanes:

The Martin B-10 makes an excellent RC Airplane. However, we have not seen many Martin B-10 radio control models.

Pictured above and below is the Martin B-10 RC Airplane built by Carl Bachhuber.  The
Martin B-10 radio control airplane has a wing span of 120".  Power for the Martin B-10 RC Airplane comes from a pair of G-12 engines.  The Martin B-10 radio control airplane was built from enlarged Cleveland plans.

Uncle Willies Plans has plans for a Martin B-10 RC Airplane.  Wing span of the
Martin B-10 radio control airplane is 52" and length is 33".  The Martin B-10 RC Airplane is powered by two Fox 35 engines.  All up weight of the Martin B-10 radio control airplane is 3.5 lbs.

Cleveland Models & Supply Co. has plans for Martin B-10 RC Airplanes with wing spans of 27, 26, 54, 72, 108, 144 and 216 inches.

Have you built a
Martin B-10 radio control airplane?  Can you recommend Martin B-10 RC Airplane plans, a kit or an ARF?  If so, please email us.
