Focke Wulf Ta-152 aircraft were the fastest German single propeller powered aircraft of World War II.
Focke Wulf Ta-152 aircraft used methanol water injection and nitrous oxide injection which could be engaged to boost the power of the engine when necessary. The Focke Wulf Ta-152 was one of the first aircraft specifically designed to employ such an injection system to enable the engine to obtain emergency war power. This enabled outnumbered Focke Wulf Ta-152 aircraft to outrun aircraft pursuing them.
Focke Wulf Ta-152 aircraft were employed to provide air cover over Me-262 bases. They protected the aircraft during take off and landings when they were most vulnerable to Allied aircraft. Although Focke Wulf Ta-152 aircraft were intended as high altitude interceptors, they proved successful during encounters with Allied aircraft flying at lower altitudes over these bases.
Due to the rush to get the Focke Wulf Ta-152 into production, like many other German aircraft produced in the latter part of the war, it had its share of mechanical difficulties. Many Focke Wulf Ta-152 aircraft models were grounded due to engine problems. When Germany surrendered, only two Focke Wulf Ta-152 model C aircraft remained in service.
A total of about 150 Focke Wulf Ta-152 high altitude interceptor aircraft were built, but only 67 production aircraft were delivered.

Radio Control Airplane
RC Airplane by Tom Sparkes.
Radio Control Airplanes:
With its long wingspan the Focke Wulf Ta-152 makes an excellent slope soaring radio control airplane.
Pictured above is the Focke Wulf Ta-152 radio control airplane built by Tom Sparkes. It has a Zenoa 61 engine. Tom enters the radio control airplane in model air races.
California Sailplanes has an EPP foam 60" wing span Ta-152 slope soaring radio control airplane. The rc airplane is controlled by two channels and has an all up weight of about 40 oz. You need to have minimum 10 mph winds to fly the radio control airplane. The rc Ta-152 Airplane slope soarer is intended for RC pilots with intermediate to advanced skill levels.
Pictured immediately below is the Ta-152 ARF radio control airplane from Aero-precikit.com built by Patrick Deslandes. The rc airplane has a wing span of 102”. Power for the radio control airplane can be a 25 -35 cc engine. The RC Ta-152 airplane is of all fiberglass construction.
In the second picture below is the 47.5” wing span radio control airplane from Espirit Model. The RC Ta-152 airplane has a length of 35”. Espirit recommends powering their radio control airplane with an AXI 2820/10 or Hacker A30 10L motor. For those who prefer wet power for their rc airplanes, you can use .25 - .30 engine power.
The third picture down is of the Focke Wulf Ta-152 radio control airplane from S & B Model Aircraft. The all EPP RC Ta-152 airplane has a wing span of 46”. You can power the radio control airplane with a speed 400 motor or fly the rc airplane as a slope soarer.
If you have built a Focke Wulf Ta-152 radio control airplane, or would like to recommend plans, kits, or an ARF of the rc Ta- 152 airplane, please tell us about them.
Julian Buck wrote to tell us that Stein Model Air Combat has two Focke Wulf Ta-152 radio control airplane kits. Both RC Airplane kits have 49” wing spans. One of the radio control airplane kits is glass/foam. The other RC Ta-152 Airplane, in the last pictured below, is of full composite materials. Either radio control airplane can be propelled by a .20 - .25 cu. in. glow engine or the equivalent electric motor. Thank you Julian.
