The Curtiss F8C Helldiver was deployed as a fighter/bomber by the United States Marine Corps in 1925. It was originally designated the Curtiss F8C Falcon by the manufacturer.
Curtiss F8C Helldiver aircraft saw action in the Brazilian Air Force in their war of 1932, with the Bolivian Air Force in the Chaco War, and the Columbian Air Force fighting against Peru.
Curtiss F8C Helldiver aircraft were retired from U.S.M.C. active duty in 1936.
A total of 150 Curtiss F8C Helldiver aircraft were produced.
The rc airplane picture immediately above and in the first two pictures below is the magnificent rc F8C Helldiver built by Jack Steward and flown by his brother Jay. The model has won numerous
contests. It has a 64" wingspan and is 52" long. It is powered by a O.S.
.91 four cycle engine. All up weight is 13 lbs. 4 oz.
The bottom picture is of the 1/12 scale rc F8C Helldiver posted to RC Groups by Ribstitch. We do not have information about its wingspan, length,
weight, or power source.

best when pulled by a .40 two cycle engine.
