The Canadair CT-114 Tutor was designed and built in Canada and was used by the Canadian Forces as its primary training aircraft from Sept. of 1961 until 2000.
Specially modified CT-114 aircraft continues to be used by the Canadian Snowbirds nine aircraft team to date. The aircraft utilize a smoke generating system and have their engines specially tuned to improve low level air show performance.
Through the years the CT-114 has received upgrades including the addition of drop tanks and improved avionics. A variant of the CT-114, the model "G" was modified to perform as a light attack aircraft. It could carry up to 2,000 lbs. of ordnance on hard points under each of its wings.
The Royal Malaysian Air Force used CT-114 light attack aircraft from 1967 to 1986. The Canadian Air Force retired the CT-114 as a training aircraft in 2000.
A total of 212 CT-114 aircraft of all types were produced.

Radio Control
Airplanes:
Although the CT-114 RC Airplane seems to be a popular subject for modelers, most of the radio control airplanes we find are scratch built.
Pictured above is the CT-114 RC airplane scratch built by Sparhawk of RC Groups. The radio control airplane is propelled by a pusher prop. We don't have any additional information about the RC Airplane.
The first picture below is of the nice looking CT-114 radio control airplane scratch built by David Thomson. The RC Airplane uses an O.S. .91 ducted fan engine for power. Unfortunately that is all we know about the radio control airplane.
The next picture below is of a scratch built CT-114 RC Airplane built by Corey of RC Groups. The radio control airplane has a wing span of 20". Corey uses a GWS motor and 3 x 2 pusher prop for his RC Airplane. The radio control airplane is built from white styrofoam and balsa.
The last picture on this page is the only ARF CT-114 RC Airplane that we have found. The radio control airplane is made by Jet Legend. Scale of the RC Airplane is 1/6. The radio control airplane has a wing span of 72" and a length of 65 1/2". It appears that a jet turbine engine powers the RC Airplane.
Have you built a CT-114 radio control airplane? Can you recommend any plans, kits or a CT-114 ARF RC Airplane? If so, please email us.
