The Canadair CL-415 (now Bombardier) air tanker is known as the "Super Scooper."
That term is derived from the fact that it can scoop its load from a body of water in only twelve seconds. It needs a path over the water a mere 300 feet in width with a depth of only slightly more than six feet. This means that a large number of water sites are available for reloading its tanks. In addition it does not need a completely straight path while scooping.
The CL-415 multi role is a derivative of the Canadiar 215 amphibious aircraft. With its amphibious capabilities, it is ideal for use in parts of the world where there are long coast lines and many islands to survey.
A total of 67 Canadair CL-415 aircraft have been produced to date.

Nitro Planes has a terrific looking rc Canadair CL-415 for sale, pictured above. However it is a fast seller, and they are often out of stock.
MR Aerodesign has a rc Canadair CL-415 kit or plan for sale. Wingspan is 80" and length is 59". Engines can be .46 2C or .70 4C.
Also available from MR Aerodesign is a giant scale Canadair CL-415 short kit with a 120" wingspan. Plans are also available separately.
We have heard of plans for a Canadair CL-415 rc being published in Model Airplane News, but don't know the issue.
There are pictures of a 64 1/2" wingspan rc Canadair CL-415 from Flying Model plans circulating.
RT Models has a rc Canadair CL-415 for sale. It has a 72" w/s and is powered by 2 geared speed 600 motors or 2 glow 0.15 engines.
Badel Metalmodel has an all aluminum RC Canadair CL-415 scale model radio control airplane. It is available either as a kit or ARTF. Wingspan is 99" and length is 69". It can be powered by OS 1.20 engines.
Aero-naut Modellbau has a Canadair CL-415 rc kit. The completed rc airplane is shown in the picture immediately below. It has a 59" w/s and is 41" long. Power is by geared 400/800 size electric motors.
Pictured next is the Canadair CL-415 rc airplane by Nibbo of RC Groups. It is made out of Depron and has a 50" wingspan.
The bottom picture is of the great looking rc Canadair CL-415 scale rc model airplane built by Mike Roach from 3-view drawings. It is made from balsawood and plywood with a 72"
wingspan and a weight of about 4 1/2 lbs. Power comes from Hyperion Z2213-24 motors.
