NOTE: RADIO CONTROL AIRPLANES ARE ON THE BOTTOM HALF OF THE PAGE.

The CAP 232 high performance aerobatic aircraft is produced by CAP Aviation, France, a division of Apex International.

The origins of the aircraft go back to 1961 when Claud Piel designed the kit built CP-30. Auguste Mudry modified the Piel design with a larger engine and a stronger aerobatic platform to produce the CAP-10 acrobatic training aircraft. The aircraft remains in production to date. Through the years a succession of CAP aircraft, each an improvement over its predecessor, were produced.

By 1971 CAP aircraft were being manufactured for world aerobatic competition as well as for training new pilots. In 1980 the aircraft received a tapered wing. This greatly increased its roll rate and made it a formidable competitor.

The CAP 232, introduced in 1994, has a wood fuselage and carbon fibre wing construction. The light weight, ultra strong, rigid wing gives the aircraft the ability to roll at rates of up to 420 degrees per second. It is certified for plus or minus 10 G's loads. The aircraft has won twelve world aerobatic trophies and numerous other competitions.

A total of ten CAP 232 aircraft have been produced to date.
